The warning was issued as part of activities marking Global Money Week 2026, a global campaign promoting financial literacy and consumer protection.

In a message shared on its official platform, the apex bank advised customers never to disclose sensitive banking details such as PINs, passwords, or account information.

The bank stressed that such information should not be shared with anyone, including individuals claiming to represent financial institutions.

The advisory comes as fraudsters increasingly impersonate bank officials through phone calls, text messages, and emails to deceive unsuspecting customers.

The Central Bank of Nigeria says customers must remain vigilant and take responsibility for protecting their personal financial data.

Global Money Week is observed worldwide, including in Nigeria, with this year’s campaign focusing on safe banking practices and the protection of financial information.
