Authorities say the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, the UAE’s largest oil storage hub, was struck, triggering a fire that emergency teams later contained. No casualties were reported.
Located along the Gulf of Oman, the Fujairah facility is a strategic export route that allows shipments to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy chokepoint.
Officials warn that any disruption at the site could impact oil flows, especially as tensions continue to affect shipping routes in the region.
In a separate incident, operations at Dubai International Airport were temporarily suspended after a drone-related fire broke out nearby.
Despite earlier statements from Tehran that it would avoid targeting neighbouring countries, attacks on Gulf oil and transport infrastructure have continued.
Officials say more than 1,900 missiles and drones have been launched at the UAE since the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran escalated last month.
