CAF announced that Senegal forfeited the final after players briefly left the pitch in protest over a late refereeing decision.
The original 1-nil victory has now been overturned, with the match officially recorded as a 3-nil win in favour of Morocco.
The controversy followed a late penalty awarded to Morocco, which led to a prolonged stoppage and tension on the field.
Senegalese players halted play for several minutes, while some supporters attempted to invade the pitch, further disrupting the match.
Despite the penalty miss and Senegal’s eventual goal in extra time, CAF ruled that the actions constituted a breach of competition regulations.
Morocco’s football federation welcomed the decision, saying its appeal was based solely on enforcing the rules.
The ruling brings a dramatic end to one of the most controversial finals in recent AFCON history.
