The launch highlighted the foundation’s goal of supporting Nigeria’s creative industry through education, mentorship, and international opportunities.
The event took place at The Delborough Lagos and brought together top figures from the entertainment industry, government, and business. Among those present were Don Jazzy, Mo Abudu, Johnny Drille, and Cobhams Asuquo. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Florence Ita-Giwa, Daisy Danjuma, and Shade Okoya also attended.
Speaking during the event, Tiwa Savage said the foundation was created to address challenges in Nigeria’s music industry, especially in areas such as education and infrastructure.
According to her, Nigeria has many talented young people, but they often lack access to the training and opportunities needed to grow in the industry.
The foundation will provide training in areas including film scoring, music publishing, music therapy, music production, and sound engineering. The programme will also give participants international exposure through a partnership with Berklee College of Music.
Savage explained that the first group of 100 participants will take part in a four-day intensive training programme. She encouraged them to take the opportunity seriously and make the most of it.
Supporters at the event praised the singer for her efforts to support young talents. Governor Sanwo-Olu described Tiwa Savage as one of Nigeria’s top music stars and said he attended the event to support her initiative.
Pastor Bolaji Idowu also commended the foundation, saying it would create opportunities and guidance for young creatives while promoting values such as love, kindness, and unity.
Singer Johnny Drille applauded Tiwa Savage for her contributions to the Nigerian music industry over the years. He added that the foundation could help improve creativity and professionalism in the industry.
Media entrepreneur Mo Abudu and businesswoman Folasade Okoya also congratulated Savage, noting that the initiative could help develop new talents and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in the global creative industry.
The Tiwa Savage Music Foundation aims to equip young creatives with the skills, knowledge, and exposure needed to succeed in the music industry.
