Authorities say the flooding has affected several parts of the country this month.
In Kisumu County, entire communities have been submerged, destroying farmland and washing away crops.
The worst-hit area is Nyakach, where the Sondu Miriu River overflowed, forcing more than 3,000 families from their homes.
Local officials say displaced residents are now staying in temporary shelters.
In the capital, Nairobi, at least 37 deaths have been recorded, with homes and roads badly damaged.
Other affected areas include Kiambu, while landslides have also been reported in parts of the country.
Authorities are warning residents to remain cautious, as more heavy rainfall is expected.
Experts say climate change is increasing the frequency of extreme weather, with East Africa facing more floods and droughts.
