Wayne Rooney has shared a heartfelt apology to his wife, children and Derby team after snaps emerged of him with three women.

In pictures circulating on social media, the 35 year old was seen chatting to a mystery woman in a nightclub before social media model Tayler Ryan and her friends Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all 21, snapped at him in a hotel room.

There is no suggestion that Wayne did anything untoward or behaved inappropriately.

However, the images resulted in his wife Coleen, 35, appearing to take her mind off the situation as she made the most of the sunny Welsh weather with her sons, Kai, 11, Klay, eight, Kit, five, and Cass, three, and her parents, without Wayne

Now, speaking at Derby’s 1-0 friendly win against Real Betis, Wayne told Sky Sports: “I made a mistake. I went to a private party with two of my friends.

“From me, I would like to apologise to my family and the club for the images which were going round.

“I want to move forward on this. I’m grateful to Derby County for giving me this opportunity to get this club back to where it belongs. I will do everything in my power to do that.”
