US President-Elect Joe Biden Fractures Leg While Playing With Pet Dog, Set to Wear Braces For Weeks
US President-elect, Joe Biden suffered an ankle injury while playing with his pet dog called Major on Saturday, November 28,2020, it has been revealed
According to the office of the President-elect who released the information on Sunday, November 29, Biden twisted his ankle and will undergo further examination.
His office said Sunday that Biden will see a doctor “out of an abundance of caution.”
Biden fractured his right foot while playing with one of his dogs, an injury discovered in a scan Sunday and that will likely require him to wear a boot for several weeks, his doctor said.
Biden visited an orthopedist in Newark, Delaware, on Sunday afternoon November 29, his office said.
“Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture,” but medical staff ordered a more detailed CT scan, his doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said in a statement. The subsequent scan found tiny fractures of two small bones in the middle of his right foot, O’Connor said.
Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden rescued Major in 2018, making it the first shelter dog to occupy the White House .
The German Shepherd is their second of two dogs. Biden adopted their first dog called Champ in 2008 when Biden became Barack Obama’s vice president. Champ is also a German Shepherd. The Bidens reportedly want to add a cat to their family.
Trump took to his twitter on Sunday night to wish Biden well after seeing a video of Biden leaving the hospital.
The White House’s current occupants, Trump and Melania, do not have pets.
