Top Moments From The 2022 GRAMMYS
The Awards show is over, but we’re still thinking about all the Top Moments of the night that had us talking! From surprise winners and unfortunate losers to amazing performances and acceptance speeches, the 2022 GRAMMYS did not disappoint.
Here are our picks for the Top Moments at this year’s GRAMMYS:
1. Doja Cat Almost Missed Award Win Because She Was In The Restroom – After losing out on a few of her categories for the GRAMMYS, it was understandable that Doja Cat decided to take a break from the festivities and head to the restroom—but she almost missed winning her very first GRAMMY because of it. As she went up to accept her award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with SZA, she hilariously acknowledged that she was very close to missing her moment because of a bathroom break.
2. Jon Batiste Took Home Album Of The Year – The very last award of the night at the GRAMMYS is the one that holds the most weight…and many fans and viewers were shocked when it was announced that singer Jon Batiste took home Record Of The Year. The relatively unknown artist beat out heavy hitters like Doja Cat, Silk Sonic, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift.
3. Jazmine Sullivan Won Her First GRAMMYS – It was a long, hard road, but after 15 losses, R&B powerhouse Jazmine Sullivan finally had her GRAMMY moment. Courtesy of her chart-topping and critically-acclaimed album ‘Heaux Tales,’ she took home her first and second trophies ever from the ceremony.
4. Silk Sonic Had A Nice Sweep – Unless you were under a rock last year, you know that you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing the melodic sounds of Silk Sonic and their smash hit ‘Leave The Door Open,’ which was responsible for them sweeping the GRAMMYS and collecting four awards.
5. Justin Bieber Teamed Up With Giveon And Daniel Cesar For ‘Peaches’ – Known for his catchy pop singles, Justin Bieber surprised the GRAMMYS audience by beginning his performance with a slowed-down piano version of ‘Peaches’ before being joined on stage by Giveon and Daniel Caesar.
6. Soja Won For Best Reggae Album – There are some GRAMMY wins that truly leave you scratching your head and Soja winning Best Reggae Album over the likes of Sean Paul and Spice was definitely something that had social media on fire…and not in a good way.
7. H.E.R. Brought Out Lenny Kravitz And Travis Barker – Always showing how multi-talented she is, H.E.R. brought out a few special guests during her GRAMMYS performances, courtesy of the legendary Lenny Kravitz and drummer Travis Barker.
8. Lil Nas X’s Performance – In his short time in the music industry, Lil Nas X has already mastered the art of the performance—and he kept that same energy at the GRAMMYS when her performed ‘Industry Baby’ with special guest Jack Harlow.
