Sterling K. Brown Speaks On Black Panther 2
While Marvel keeps prepping its long-awaited sequel Black Panther 2, Sterling K. Brown has responded to fans asking for his return.
The 45-year-old actor portrayed the character N’Jobu in the 2018 blockbuster Black Panther, appearing in just a handful of scenes that were quite pivotal.
While there is no official word that N’Jobu will be back, several fans have stated on the Internet they want to see him back, with Brown responding on Twitter.
The This Is Us star retweeted a CheatSheet article entitled, ‘Some Black Panther Fans Want Sterling K. Brown Back in the MCU.’
Brown added, ‘If there’s a way, I would be honored,’ adding the beloved Black Panther hashtag #WakandaForever.
The article points to a 2019 ComicBook.com article which said he had, ‘one of the most vital roles’ in Black Panther, despite having just two scenes.
‘The powerful performance from Brown…set the stage for the entire film, as those scenes influenced the actions of Killmonger,’ the article added.
Brown portrayed N’Jobu in flashback scenes, the uncle of Chadwick Boseman’s character T’challa and brother of his father T’chaka.
N’Jobu was caught smuggling the powerful material vibranium out of Wakanda and selling it on the black market.

His betrayal was punished by death, killed by T’chaka himself in Oakland, which was seen by N’Jobu’s own son, Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan).
Erik dedicated his life to avenging his father’s death, which drives most of the Black Panther plot.
Since N’Jobu was killed in 1992, as shown during the events of Black Panther, it seems unlikely that the character will return.
Still, others have pointed to the emergence of the Multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as an opportunity for N’Jobu to return, with some thinking he should be the next Black Panther.
‘Brown would be great as the next Black Panther,’ said Reddit user Jerdplz, who added there could be a creative way for him to return.
‘You could do a multiverse/time-shifted element where his uncle is pulled into current Wakanda out of time. [Brown] brings the same energy Chadwick brought, and it’s the perfect way to have the mantle passed while staying close to the same character,’ the Redditor added.
