The Bidens’ German shepherd rescue, who is set to become the first shelter dog to live in the White House, is getting his own ceremony.

President-elect Joe Biden’s rescue dog Major is getting his own special induction ceremony just days before Biden is inaugurated into the White House.

The Delaware Humane Association (DHA), where the Bidens adopted Major in 2018, and Pumpkin Pet Insurance are putting on a virtual “indoguration” for the shelter dog-turned-presidential pet.

DHA is calling it “the world’s largest virtual party for dogs” and invites humans and their pets to watch Major become the First Dog. The “indoguration” is set to happen over Zoom on January 17 at 3 p.m. ET — three days before Biden is inaugurated in Washington D.C. The event will be hosted by TV broadcaster and NBC’s “TODAY” contributor Jill Martin, with special guest Sir Darius Brown, a teenage entrepreneur and activist.

According to Brown’s Instagram post about the event, attendees can also nominate their dogs to be “Secretary of Rescue Dogs” on Major’s “cabinet.”

A $10 donation or more is required to attend the virtual ceremony, and all proceeds will go toward DHA’s shelter.

Biden’s German shepherd Major will become the first shelter dog to live in the White House. Major will be accompanied by the Bidens’ other German shepherd, Champ. President Donald Trump and James Polk are the only presidents to not have pets while in office.
