A message has been sent to world leaders concerning terrorism in Africa. The message which can be described as a save our soul plea was issued by President Muhammadu Buhari. He made the plea in an article he penned in the Financial Times of London.

According to him, Africa has automatically become the new frontline of terror and global militancy following the fall of Kabul to the Taliban. He said Africa alone cannot defeat the monster. He insisted this would require more than the United States military aid but the entire world coming together for its sake.

The president expressed optimism that Africa would defeat the terrorist, “one highway, one rail link — and one job — at a time.” He said: Africa is the new frontline of global militancy.

Yet few expect the outlay expended here to be as great as in Afghanistan.” Buhari in isolation Meanwhile, Buhari has commenced isolation following his return from the United Kingdom (UK) in compliance with the COVID-19 travel guidelines. The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed the development.
