Nigerian Man’s Guinness World Record Bid Takes a Devastating Turn
A Nigerian man named Tembu Ebere recently embarked on a challenging quest to set a record in the Guinness World Records by attempting to cry continuously for seven days. However, this unusual feat took a toll on his health, and he confirmed that he partially went blind during the emotional ordeal.
The inspiration to achieve extraordinary endurance feats has been sweeping across the country, sparked by the record-breaking achievement of chef Hilda Baci, who set the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) in May. Despite experiencing headaches, puffy eyes, and a swollen face, Ebere remained determined to accomplish his goal of crying non-stop for a week.
However, after 45 minutes of partial blindness, he decided to re-strategize and reduce the intensity of his wailing. This surge of record-breaking attempts in Nigeria has garnered significant public attention, prompting a warning from Guinness World Records about the need to curb excessive and potentially hazardous record-a-thons.
