Popular Nigerian music star, Davido, has no doubt earned himself the title of an A-list artiste and he was recently named the Artiste of the Year by a music publication.

 In the Turntable publication, the DMW boss was given the Artiste of the Year title. As if that was not enough, he also led in eight categories.

Some of the other categories where Davido came out tops include:

·         Top Afropop artiste

·         Top Male Artiste

·         Top TV Artiste

·         Top Solo Song by a Male Artiste (Fem)

·         Top Streaming Artiste

·         Top YouTube Artiste

Davido bagged the highest wins in the music chart conducted by TurnTable.

Other Nigerian stars who were celebrated by Turntable include Omah Lay as his Bad Influence song was named Top Apple Music Song, while DJ Neptune ft. Joeboy and Mr Eazi’s Nobody track was named Top Afropop song for the year. Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo was also named Top Gospel Artiste and her song, Obinasom, was named Top Gospel Song. Nice one.

In other music-related news, 20 Nigerian songs that were street anthems in the year 2020. The Nigerian music industry like every other sector was no doubt badly hit in the year 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and other issues that troubled the country.

However, it also seemed to be a year of great discovery in the music industry owing to the number of breakout stars that fans were blessed with as well as beautiful music from other top artists.
