Koffi N’guessan, Agro-preneur, who makes leather out of pineapple fibers
Koffi Jacques Olivier N’guessan is a 23 year old Ivorian contractor. He launched TYEGROCI, a start-up that works in agriculture and processing of agricultural waste. TYEGROCI produces cassava, corn, cocoa (made into chocolate) and chili.
The company makes charcoal from banana, but also leather from pineapple fibers obtained from pineapple leaves.
These fibers make fabrics to make outfits, wicks for wigs or lamps. TYEGROCI’s leather is very resilient and eco-friendly and allows it to make shoes, vehicle seats and bags.
In 2020, the company’s turnover was estimated at 131 million francs
