Keri Hilson Reminds Fans That Justin Timberlake Helped With Her Hit Single “Slow Dance”
Justin Timberlake and Keri Hilson go down memory lane as they talk about how he helped with her record.
Back in 2009, Keri Hilson released her debut studio album “In A Perfect World.” The album went on to have a few chart-topping hits, including “Slow Dance.”
Recently Keri ran into Justin Timberlake at Timbaland’s 50th birthday party, and she took the moment to give Justin his flowers for his musicianship and his writing abilities, including on one of her biggest hits.
In a post shared to her Instagram, Keri and JT came together to talk about how his freestyle of lyrics helped Keri complete the song. She said in her caption, “Did YOU know? I had just pulled up this fire Royal Court track when JT dropped by my session to say hi one random nite in VA. He started free-styling this legendary gem…real sexy & Prince-like in his falsetto. All I had to do was finish writing it, flesh out the arrangements (which I brought @jimbeanzofficial in on), and perform the hell out of it. Forever grateful. I love this guy. So good to reunite & reminisce.”
Keri then proceeded to share a text message exchange between her and JT where he continued to speak about how great of a record “Slow Dance,” is to this day.
Keri then stepped into The Shade Room comment section to continue giving JT his flowers and added, “JT’s always been a sincere and genuine person…a soulful being. As lovable & humble as they come. And a fkn genius. I watched him write enough records to say that. Happy to give him his flowers on that pen game (as if he needs more) Forever grateful for this cult classic. Or just classic. Whichever you prefer!”
Keri, who has also written several hit singles for other artists as well, followed up her debut with her second studio album “No Boys Allowed,” in 2010.
Fans have since been waiting on Keri to drop new music.
