Kendrick Lamar New Single to Drop Ahead Of Super Bowl LVI
Kendrick Lamar will perform during the star-studded Super Bowl LVI halftime show on Sunday (Feb. 13). Now rumors about K. Dot dropping new music are starting to intensify and are leaving many fans wondering if he will premiere a new single at the mega-football event.
Lamar has not released a single since his efforts on the 2018 Black Panther soundtrack, but has been featured on two of Baby Keem’s latest hits “family ties” and “range brothers.”
According to Billboard, the artist will reportedly release his newest record on Feb. 4 or on Feb. 11.
The buzz about new music coming from the TDE artist comes after he penned a letter in Aug. 2021 that his award-winning DAMN project would be his final album.
“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” Lamar wrote. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators.
As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”
While it is still unclear if new music is coming from Lamar and what his setlist looks like for his Super Bowl performance, fans are already on the edge of their seats waiting for any surprises from the Compton rapper.
Super Bowl LVI airs live on Sunday (Feb. 13) on NBC at 6:30 PM ET at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The Dr. Dre halftime show will include performances by Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem.
