Kendrick Lamar Hints At ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ Being A Double Album
Fans are counting down the days until Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album’s arrival next Friday (May 13). K. Dot has remained tight-lipped about what the project could entail but dropped a major hint about the anticipated LP on Tuesday (May 3).
Kendrick’s Oklama website surfaced with a new folder featuring a photo of the Compton native holding a pair of CDs with one titled “Morale” and the other “Steppers,” which drove fans to think he’s teasing a possible double album.
Now, none of this is confirmed but it’s a heavy subliminal message into the direction Kendrick Lamar is going with the CDs representing the “Master Copy” of the LP. Kendrick Lamar announced Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in April, which sent fans into a frenzy as it’s been over five years since 2017’s DAMN. album.
According to Akademiks, the latest projections are forecasting Kendrick Lamar’s comeback effort to land him yet another No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with about 400,000 total album-equivalent units in the first week.
Outside of the booth, Kendrick Lamar is teaming up with PgLang to launch another footwear collaboration with Converse. They were available on the PgLang website but look to be sold out completely.
“We’ve designed shoes together in the past. The Chuck 70 and Pro Leather still have elements from those shoes,” PgLang collaborator Dave Free said of the sneakers. “We learned a lot from that process of what not to do and took a stab at a new take.”
