Kanye West to Headline Coachella 2022
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is reportedly slated to headline the 2022 Coachella Festival.
According to Variety, the mega-music event is already sold out and is scheduled to take place over two separate weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24. Coachella will remain at its usual location at the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, Calif.
Billie Eilish will headline the festival alongside West, with Swedish House Mafia also on the bill, although it is unclear if the group is officially confirmed.
The original headliners for the festival were first announced in Jan. 2020 with Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against the Machine fronting the lineup.
Last year, Ocean decided to move his Coachella appearance to 2023, and Scott was removed from the festival amid the Astroworld tragedy that took place in Nov. 2021.
This isn’t the first time that West and Eilish have graced the Coachella stage. In 2011, West headlined the festival and in 2019 Eilish became the youngest artist ever to have a breakthrough performance at Coachella.
The 21st Coachella has been postponed four times since 2020.
