Diversity’s Jordan Banjo has shared Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams’ reaction to the group’s powerful Black Lives Matter performance.
The dance troupe took to the BGT stage on September 5 to deliver a routine that shone a light on police brutality, the death of George Floyd and the subsequent BLM marches that have been happening all over the world in recent months.
While judge Alesha Dixon has since revealed that she was in “floods of tears” over the moving demonstration, and ITV has publicly backed the act’s production after some viewers complained to Ofcom, Walliams has stayed relatively quiet on the matter.
Now though, Banjo has explained that he “thought it was wicked”.

“Ashley has been there with David and we know his reaction, he loved the routine,” Banjo told Metro, noting how his brother is filling in for Simon Cowell while he recovers from a serious back injury.
“No one should be made to have to scream and shout out or anything – you agree or you don’t and you know that it is what it is,” he added. “No one should be made to feel guilty for saying something or not saying something.”
During the interview, Banjo said that he’s received “so much positivity” both in-person and online that he finds it hard to believe that people had an issue with the moving choreography.
“It just shocks me when I see that many complaints,” he said. “Then I go, ‘Hang on, that’s relatively such a small amount as [millions] of people watched it.
“It has got loads of views on YouTube and of course, some people said some negative stuff but relatively most people loved the performance.”
