Jay-Z Takes a Walk with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey
And Jay-Z went for a stroll with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and a group of business associates in The Hamptons, New York.
The rapper, 51, and the social media mogul, 44, are said to be in negotiations for Jack to buy a large stake in Jay’s music streaming service TIDAL.
Jay cut a casual figure for the outing where he was also joined by Roc Nation co-founder Tyran ‘Tata’ Smith and CEO of the company, Jay Brown.
The hit maker sported a black jacket with matching tracksuit bottoms and white trainers for the outing.
Jack also opted for a laid back look in a white T-shirt and black shorts.
Jay-Z – real name Shawn Carter – bought an obscure Norwegian streaming service in 2015 for $56 million and rebranded it as Tidal – an ‘artist-owned’ streaming service – before teaming up with big name artists like Kanye West and Rihanna to debut new music exclusively via the platform.
In the years since its launch however it’s failed to become a major rival for other big platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
Jack and Jay-Z have been enthusiastic about the collaboration between Square and TIDAL on Twitter this week but have not given too many details about future plans.
Jay-Z recently gave a rare interview about life as a father to three.
The hip-hop veteran revealed he couldn’t swim until his first child was born, and only had lessons then because he wanted to make sure that when his little girl started swimming, he would be able to rescue Blue if she ever got into any trouble in the water.
Speaking on LeBron James’ HBO series The Shop: Uninterrupted, Jay said of parenthood: It’s amazing. It’s a very grounding thing. I didn’t learn how to swim until Blue was born.
‘There goes everything you need to know. This is a metaphor for our relationship.
‘If she ever fell in the water and I couldn’t get her, I couldn’t even fathom that thought. I gotta learn how to swim. That’s it. That was the beginning of our relationship.’
Meanwhile, the rapper recently opened up about the hard work he and his wife Beyonce have put into their marriage and how ‘proud’ he is of the father and husband he has become.
The Empire State of Mind hitmaker – who tied the knot with the former Destiny’s Child star in 2008 – said: ‘I have a beautiful wife who was understanding and knew I am not the worst of what I’ve done.
‘We did the hard work of going to therapy, we love each other. We really put in the work for years. This music I’m making now is a result of things that have happened already.
‘Like you, I like to believe that we’re in a better place today, but still working and still communicating and growing. I’m proud of the father and the husband I am today because of all the work that was done.’
