Richard Tusabe, the Rwandan Minister of National Treasury, emphasized fintech’s significance in the country’s economic strategy, highlighting investments in digital public goods. The forum also tackled the necessity for balanced regulation and innovation, engaging in discussions on licensing reforms, harmonizing regulatory frameworks, and promoting cross-border interoperability.
Notably, there was a strong emphasis on the inclusion of women in fintech, calling for greater participation and opportunities for them. The forum emphasized the importance of international collaboration to address Africa’s fragmented regulatory landscape and facilitate the expansion of African fintech companies.
