Iranian president accuses west of promoting homosexuality
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a diplomatic visit to Uganda in an effort to alleviate the country’s isolation. During his speech, Raisi criticized Western nations, accusing them of promoting homosexuality and undermining the institution of the family.
He emphasized the shared values between Iran and Uganda regarding the importance of family and expressed concern over the West’s attempts to promote homosexuality, which he believed went against the natural order of human beings.
It is worth noting that Uganda has faced international backlash for recently passing anti-gay legislation. This visit to Africa marks the first time an Iranian leader has traveled to the continent in over ten years, occurring amidst heavy economic sanctions imposed on Iran by the United States.
