Houston Police Arrest Suspect Linked To Takeoff’s Murder
The Houston Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the death of American rapper Takeoff.
The Houston Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the death of American rapper Kirsnik Khari Ball, also known as, Takeoff.
The artiste, who was a member of the Migos rap trio was a victim of a shooting incident at a Houston bowling alley in November. An altercation had broken out during a dice game, which another member of the rap group, Quavo, was involved in.
A person started shooting during the fight, the rapper was hit, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The Police Department stated that Takeoff was neither part of the argument, nor was he armed.
Addressing the media on Friday, the Department’s chief announced that they had arrested 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark and charged him with the murder of the late rapper, TMZ reports.
Court documents filed by prosecutors showed that Clark had applied for an expedited passport immediately after Takeoff’s murder. Before the arrest was made, he had received the passport and also had a large sum of cash on him.
To prevent the risk of the suspect escaping, prosecutors are asking that his bail be placed at $1,000,000, and if granted, he should be placed on house arrest.
