Freddie Gibbs Speaks On Jussie Smollett Sentencing “He Should Go To Jail”
Freddie Gibbs recently spoke with popular publication TMZ and discussed the Jussie Smollett case telling the outlet the actor needs to spend “three to five years” behind bars for his actions.
As the rapper was leaving Cookies on Melrose, the 39-year-old was stopped by the online publication and asked about his thoughts on the Capitol rioters and the actor’s recent verdict, to which he feels they both need to serve jail time.
“I think the capitol rioters and Jussie Smollet need to go to jail,” he told the outlet.
“Free Jussie Smollet in three years and the capitol rioters need to get the same sentence like drug dealers. Our justice system has been f***** up without a question. Capitol rioters — f*** yall n***** and Jussie Smollet — f*** you too. All yall go to jail.”
When asked his thoughts on the sentencing and if it was “too harsh,” the musician doesn’t agree and equates the false hate crime with people who lie about being sexually assaulted.
“He did that b***s*** and he should go to jail just like b****** that fake rape should go to jail,” he said. “F*** Jussie Smollet. Free Jussie Smollet in five years.”
Although some are not in favor of the Empire star, his co-star Taraji P. Henson has come to his defense expressing the “punishment doesn’t fit the crime.”
“I am not here to debate you on his innocence but we can agree that the punishment does not fit the crime,” Henson wrote on her Instagram.
Gibbs is not only making his presence known with his stance on issues, as the Indiana native is a part of the ‘Power’ universe. He recently shared a sneak peek on his Twitter in character and thanked 50 Cent for the opportunity.
Gibbs is set to play a character named Buddy, a “crazy and unpredictable” hustler who’s established himself as the drug kingpin in nearby Gary, Indiana, ironically the artist’s hometown.
