Superstar wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stated in an interview that American president was “off the table.”         

Superstar wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has dashed the hopes of some Americans after announcing that it’s a wrap on him ever being in the White House.

During an interview on CBS, Johnson plainly stated that becoming an American president was “off the table.” He made the statement after host Tracy Smith asked if he was still considering the position.

He elaborated on his stance, saying,

“I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. And that the most important thing to me is being a daddy. This critical time in my daughters’ lives is number one, especially during this time.”

Johnson, a father of four, further expressed that fatherhood required him to be present, and becoming president would interfere with that role.

“I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years,” he said.

Last year, the New York Post reported that 46% of 30,000 Americans surveyed in a Piplsay poll would support the wrestling champ if he decided to for president. He sent fans into a frenzy after teasing in a tweet.

“Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pickup truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club. But if it ever happens, it’d be my honor to serve the people.”

Johnson also hinted at running for president in 2017.
