Alfa Romeo unveiled its 2021 Formula 1 car at an event in Warsaw, Poland, ahead of the upcoming season.

The new Alfa Romeo, called the C41 – despite last year’s car being named the C39 – was presented to the world on Monday morning in the Polish capital, which is a key base for title sponsor Orlen.

Alfa Romeo was the first team out of the blocks to formally announce their launch plans last month and is the third team to have revealed their latest challenger for 2021, following McLaren and Alpha Tauri’s respective reveals last week.

The C41, which is an evolution of last year’s car due to the carry-over of chassis between last season and this one, will be tasked with getting Alfa Romeo closer to the front of the grid, after a difficult 2020 campaign.

The Swiss squad could only muster a total of eight points across the 17-round season on its way to finishing a distant eighth place in the constructors’ championship for the third year running.

Alfa Romeo is set to receive a welcome boost in the form of an all-new power unit from Ferrari, which the team hopes will help overcome its straight-line speed deficiency last year.
