Aid running out to help IDP’s in Sudan
Millions of internally-displaced people in Sudan are facing a shortage of aid, according to the United Nations (UN). The conflict between government forces and the paramilitary group, RSF, has resulted in the displacement of nearly three million people.
Sudanese IDPs have expressed their concerns about the lack of assistance, stating that aid has not reached them since the end of Ramadan and Eid, except for a recent delivery of bread. A former girl’s school in central Sudan is currently housing around one thousand refugees, including families with children, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic diseases.
The conflict in Sudan has claimed the lives of approximately three thousand people, and the UN has warned of possible crimes against humanity in the western region of Darfur. International organizations are facing obstacles in providing aid, with no intervention from the government. The UK has recently imposed sanctions on businesses associated with Sudanese military groups involved in the conflict.
