50 Cent Awards $48,000 College Scholarship to High School Student As a Part of G-Star Program.

Rapper 50 Cent has awarded a Texas high school student with a college scholarship worth $48,000 thanks to his G-Star program based in Houston.

Earlier this week, Fif shared the incredible news on his Instagram to celebrate Kennedy, a teen from Kashmere High School, who was selected to receive a scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin.

“My G Stars are no joke,” the entertainer and entrepreneur captioned his post. “Kennedy from Kashmere HS was just awarded a four year scholarship to the University of Texas! I’m So proud of these kids. H TOWN you know the vibes she gonna get to the bread. GLG GreenLightGang #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi”

Back in 2021, 50 Cent, in partnership with the Houston Independent School District, announced that he would be launching his G-Star entrepreneur program at three HISD high schools.

“These opportunities are huge opportunities that I didn’t have,” the executive producer of Starz’s Power universe said during an official press conference. “Being able to provide that in the early stages, I think it changes the direction and the choices that they will make. It prevents them from making some of the mistakes that I made.”

The program is meant to “offer high school students the chance to apply for paid internships” and teach “core business values, as well as develop their own business ideas with major input from Houston business leaders and 50 Cent himself.”
