Multiple award-winning Nigerian superstars, Wizkid, have added another plaque to his shelf as he bags the award for the Best African Act in this year’s edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The popular singer took to his Instagram story to repost a video snippet of the announcement as the winner of the category.

Wizkid won the tightly-contested category over other nominated artists such as Tems, Diamond Platnumz, Amaarae, and Focalistic.

Congratulating the Essence singer on his win, organizers of the event via their Instagram handle, @mtvbaseafrica, wrote, “HUGE congratulations to BIG WIZ @wizkidayo for winning Best African Act! From Lagos to the world #MTVEMA #StarBoyHQ.”

It has been a year since the release of his hit album ‘Made in Lagos’, but it has steadily topped the charts worldwide.

Fans all over the world are still hooked on his hit song ‘essence’ as they await his new album and his world tour continues.
