Tiger Woods wins first major victory after 11 years at the Masters on Sunday by claiming a fifth Green Jacket.

The last time he won the Masters was 14 years ago, in 2005 so this marks his 15th major title and his first since 2008.

He (Woods) began the final round two shots back of overnight leader Francesco Molinari, carded a two-under-par 70 to finish one shot ahead of fellow Americans Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.

Woods hoisted a major trophy while the last of his four Augusta titles came in 2005, his fifth Green Jacket leaving him one short of another Nicklaus record.

This recent victory of woods marked the first time he had reached the winner’s circle at major without leading after 54 holes.

At the age of 21 woods had his first win at Augusta National- and follows a decade-long period in the wilderness marked by personal scandal and injury that put him out of the game.

Tiger Woods thinks that he has been very lucky to be playing again last year after what had transpired, Woods said afterward “To now be the champion, 22 years I think between events is a long time!”
