Tiger Woods Return to Tournaments in Doubt
Tiger Woods remains out of the 2020-21 PGA Tour as he recovers from yet another back surgery. Nobody knows when he will be back. Tiger could return for the World Golf Championship-Mexico City (Feb. 25-28) or for the Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 4-7).
The Masters will be on April 8-11. He recently had a microdiscectomy to remove a pressurized disc fragment that gave him nerve pain during last month’s PNC Championship. “I look forward to beginning training and am focused on getting back out on Tour”, Tiger Woods said in the statement in which his doctors deemed the operation successful and predicted a full recovery.
Woods’ quest for a record 83rd PGA TOUR victory has been put on hold. He announced that he will miss his own The Genesis Invitational, which he will host at Riviera Country Club on Feb. 18-21.
Woods and Sam Snead are tied with 82 career wins, the most in PGA TOUR history. Woods has won eight times at Torrey Pines – seven times in the Farmers, and at the 2008 U.S. Open – but remains winless at Riviera, where he played his first PGA TOUR event.
Woods will be at Riviera next month to serve as tournament host, according to Tuesday’s release. Meanwhile, Davis Love III will be the captain of the United States at the 2022 Presidents Cup, scheduled in his Charlotte (USA), where the American golfer was born and raised The choice, a few days before Christmas, was communicated to him by Tiger Woods, US leader in the 2019 biennial challenge in Melbourne (Australia) against Ernie Els’ Rest of the world “I need to talk to you”

The Carolinas mean so much to me and my family, and it’s humbling to know that I will return to Charlotte in this new role to help carry on the rich sports tradition the Queen City has developed through the years”, Love said
