Paul Pogba wants to leave Manchester United at the end of the season and prefers a return to Juventus, according to reports. Earlier this week Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, said that the midfielder is ‘unhappy’ and his time at Old Trafford is ‘over’.

Pogba re-joined United from Juventus in an £89 million deal in 2016 but has struggled to hit consistent form in his second stint at Old Trafford.

Reports this week have claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in favour of United allowing Pogba to leave and is keen to sign a replacement midfielder who wants to be at the club.

According to The Times, Pogba is now ‘intent’ on moving back to Juventus next summer. The 27-year-old spent four seasons at Juventus and won the Serie A title in every campaign during his time in Italy.

Speaking this week Juventus’ managing director, Fabio Paratici, refused to rule out a move for the World Cup winner. ‘We love Paul, he’s an amazing player but he’s playing for Manchester United now,’ said Paratici. ‘We know so well the value of Paul Pogba. We also know his price, so we will see what happens.

Meanwhile, reports are claiming that United are willing to cut their losses in the January transfer window and are prepared to accept a £50m offer for Pogba. Pogba’s current deal with United expires in 2022 after they triggered a one-year extension in October.

When asked about Pogba’s situation after United’s Champions League exit on Tuesday, Solskjaer said: ‘You’ve got to ask Paul if he’s happy or not. I’m not going to speak for him. ‘But Paul’s focused on doing his best for the team when he’s here. He’s working hard in training. He just needs to focus on his performances.’
