The NYC-based designer teamed up with glassware maestro John Derian on a collection that celebrates the natural world

For menswear fans, collaboration between their favorite brand and their favorite brand’s favorite artist isn’t exactly a novel premise. Some of the year’s most exciting collections have featured mind-melds between a hotshot designer and an artist friend turned muse. But a truly successful collaboration—the type that doesn’t immediately read as cooked up by a bunch of marketing executives with little connection to either party—is of a far rarer variety.

Snyder’s connection to Derian run deeps—when the former was designing menswear at J.Crew he used to visit the latter’s East Village shop during the day, and one imagines the seeds for an eventual collaboration were planted while Snyder was poring over the flora and fauna Derian’s been printing on his glassware since the late ’80s.

The Todd Snyder site, which also stocks a curated selection of Derian’s decorative home goods, is now host to a collection of shirts, shorts, hoodies, and crewnecks chock full of the fruits, flowers, and exotic locales Derian is famous for (all of which, incidentally, happen to make for a touching Valentine’s Day surprise for your long-suffering significant other).

If that’s not enough, to celebrate the launch of the collection Snyder tapped fashion-world favorite Lewis Miller to bring one of his signature floral installations to the front of the Todd Snyder Liquor Store in NYC. And in anticipation of Valentine’s Day, Miller is also offering custom-designed bouquets sold in-store at Todd Snyder from February 12 to 14, so if you’re looking to snag a loved one a last-minute gift (and you haven’t found anything perusing our extensive guides), any of the above would be a solid place to start.
