Terrell Davis, the esteemed NFL Hall of Fame running back and two-time Super Bowl champion, has accused United Airlines of mishandling a situation that led to his wrongful handcuffing during a flight. The event unfolded last Saturday as Davis was traveling with his family from Denver to California.

Davis, 51, known for his exceptional career with the Denver Broncos, took to social media to recount his distressing experience. According to Davis, the trouble began during the flight’s beverage service when his son requested a cup of ice. In an attempt to get the flight attendant’s attention, Davis said he lightly tapped the attendant on the arm. The flight attendant allegedly responded by accusing Davis of hitting him, a claim Davis denies.

In his detailed Instagram post, Davis described his shock and confusion over the situation. He mentioned that the flight attendant abruptly left the beverage cart and went to the front of the plane, leaving Davis and other passengers bewildered. Witnesses of the exchange appeared equally surprised by the attendant’s reaction.

Upon landing at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, Davis and his family were instructed to stay seated. Shortly after, FBI agents and local law enforcement boarded the plane, handcuffed Davis in front of his wife and three children, and escorted him off the aircraft. Davis noted that the entire plane watched the scene in silence.

United Airlines has since issued an apology and has removed the involved flight attendant from duty pending a thorough investigation. A spokesperson for United Airlines stressed that the airline is committed to reviewing its policies to prevent similar incidents in the future and to ensure a high standard of service.

Davis, a pivotal player for the Denver Broncos from 1995 to 2001, remains a celebrated figure in NFL history. His contributions include leading the Broncos to victories in Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017, Davis continues to hold the title of the Broncos’ all-time leading rusher.
