An aide to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, named Jackson Akpabio, has stated that the definitive ministerial list from President Bola Tinubu will be released today. He urged the public to wait for the official announcement of the nominees instead of speculating.

There were rumors about the early departure of the Senate President and the Deputy Senate President from the Senate building on Wednesday, but Jackson clarified that Akpabio remained on-site to inspect a church site within the complex.

Today, during the Senate’s plenary, the list of ministers is expected to be revealed, which is the constitutional deadline for the nomination. The delay in the announcement has caused widespread unease, given Tinubu’s promise of an immediate start to a “government of national competence.”

The Constitution mandates the president to submit the names of ministerial nominees for Senate confirmation within 60 days of taking office. Tinubu, who was sworn in as president on May 29, is required by law to submit the ministerial list to the Senate by July 28 (today).

Various names have surfaced on social media as potential ministerial nominees, including notable politicians like Nyesom Wike, Andy Uba, Abubakar Kyari, and others. However, a disputed list that circulated on Wednesday caused confusion as it included names like Oladimeji Bankole, Gboyega Oyetola, and Simon Lalong.
