Manchester United Show Interest in Ronaldo
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said the club is available if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave Juventus.
Solskjaer said this amid reports linking Ronaldo with city rivals and Premier League champions, Manchester City.
“I don’t want to speculate too much,” admitted Solskjaer as quoted by United’s website.
“Cristiano has been a legend of this club, he is a legend of this club, he’s the greatest player of all time, if you ask me.
“I was fortunate enough to play with him, I coached him. He almost retired me, because of that Wolverhampton game when I got injured, he kept switching sides! He’s such a tremendous human being as well, so let’s see what happens. Everyone who’s played with him has a soft spot for him.
“I didn’t think Cristiano was gonna leave Juventus. It’s been speculation the last few days, of course,” Ole added.
“We’ve always had good communication. I know Bruno has been talking to him as well. He knows what we feel about him. If he was ever going to move from Juventus, he knows that we’re here.”
Reports also have it that United have been in talks with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, on bringing back their former Number 7 to Old Trafford.
This was after Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, revealed that the 36-year-old has decided to leave the Old Lady.
“Yesterday Ronaldo told me that he no longer has any intention of playing for Juventus, for this reason, he will not be picked tomorrow,” Allegri told reporters on Friday.
Meanwhile, football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has said “Manchester United are preparing their official contract proposal to Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Jorge Mendes will receive it soon. Man Utd are “confident” now.
“Paul Pogba is currently not involved in any talk. Man City are out of the race for Cristiano Ronaldo.
He added “Cristiano Ronaldo told Jorge Mendes he’s“ open to join Manchester United ”for incredible comeback. Contract to be sent in the next hours.
“Man Utd are discussing a deal with Cristiano and Mendes until June 2023.
“Manchester City have never sent an official proposal.”
