Leicester City Set to ‘Win Race’ For Celtic Striker Odsonne Edouard’s Signature this summer
Leicester City are set to win the race for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard’s signature this summer, it has been claimed.
The 23-year-old has indicated he wants to be reunited with his former boss Brendan Rodgers, who bought him from Paris Saint-Germain while he was in charge at Celtic Park for £9million after a successful season-long loan spell in 2017.
Now it’s claimed the Foxes boss Rodgers is close to a deal to bring the much sought after Frenchman to the King Power Stadium for a fee believed to be around £15million.
Edouard will have 12 months left on his contract this summer and that, as well as a sell-on fee of around 40 per cent owed to PSG, has driven down the price, and says the report.
The 6ft 2inch tall centre-forward has bagged 21 goals so far this season and is seen as a possible long-term replacement for 34-year-old Jamie Vardy.
At one point Celtic had hoped to receive as much as £40m for the striker, who has scored 83 goals in four seasons.

A number of rival clubs have been linked with interest in Edouard, including Aston Villa, Arsenal and Roma but it’s claimed the Foxes are his preferred destination.
The fact that Leicester’s head of recruitment, Lee Congerton, knows the player well having negotiated the deal to take him to Celtic when employed in the same position by the Scottish club, adds fuel to that thinking.
