Kendrick Lamar has been spending the time surrounding the release of his highly-anticipated new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steepers in Ghana, and now, footage of him playing soccer with people in the African nation has surfaced.

Video of the Compton rapper hanging out in Ghana had already gone viral prior to the LP’s drop. On Sunday (May 15), Mr. Morale stepped out to get a game of soccer in with some native Ghanians of all ages in a clip shared online. He’s seen waiting as his team fights for possession before he attempts a kick at the goal.

Another part of the footage shows K Dot posing for a group picture with all who participated in the game.

It isn’t clear how long Kendrick has been in Africa, however, rumors allege that he was visiting Ghana to host a private listening party prior to the album’s release and is also allegedly filming a documentary there.

Kendrick Lamar’s fifth solo studio album, according to Apple Music, is breaking records on the platform. In a tweet, the streaming platform wrote: “Shout out @kendricklamar. K-Dot’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers had the most first-day streams for an album released so far in 2022.”

Lamar will also be hitting the road for a world tour surrounding his new LP. The Big Steppers Tour will span across 65 dates, beginning on July 19 in Oklahoma City and closing in Australia in December.
