Donda 2 had been mooted by Steven Victor—the former chief operating officer of West’s G.O.O.D. Music and also the former executive vice president and Head of A&R at Def Jam Recordings. Victor told Complex, “Ye has started working on his new masterpiece Donda 2.” He added in a subsequent interview with Complex, “Listen, [Donda 2 is] coming sooner than you think. The procession is starting and it’s not stopping.”

Donda 2 will be the sequel to West’s last album, released in August. Of late, West, has been busy: He co-headlined the Amazon-sponsored Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert with Drake, put out a song with the Game, and was announced as a Coachella headliner. Plus, the first part of the Jeen-Yuhs documentary about his life premiered, and he’s been a mainstay in the tabloids due to his new relationship with actress Julia Fox.
