In honor of Bruce Lee’s 50th death anniversary, fans are organizing exhibitions and martial arts workshops in Hong Kong. Bruce Lee was a pioneer for Asian men in Hollywood, challenging racist stereotypes and proving that they could be more than just servants or villains. Born in San Francisco, he spent his early years in Hong Kong and later pursued martial arts and acting in the United States.

He gained fame with roles in Hollywood and Hong Kong films, such as “The Green Hornet” and “The Big Boss.” His untimely death at 32 was a loss to the film industry. Film scholar Aaron Han Joon Magnan-Park highlights how Lee represented a unique Chinese identity that transcended national boundaries and also emphasized how he showcased a new portrayal of Asian masculinity with his fit and strong physique.
