Eritrea rejoins east Africa trade and security bloc IGAD after 16 years
After 16 years of political isolation, Eritrea has resumed its active participation in the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) by taking its seat at the 14th Ordinary Summit held in Djibouti.
During the summit, Eritrea reaffirmed its commitment to working together with all member states to revitalize and enhance the effectiveness of IGAD. Furthermore, Eritrea expressed its dedication to promoting peace, stability, and regional integration as key objectives within the IGAD framework.
