Chinne, a resilient and determined contestant of the popular Nigerian reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), has shared the story of her eight-year-long journey to enter the house. Despite her tireless efforts, her time on the show was unexpectedly cut short, lasting only two weeks. This revelation came during an insightful interview on the Morning Rush show, hosted by the renowned media personality, Osi.
The BBNaija house is known for being a dream destination for many aspiring stars across Nigeria and beyond, offering a platform that can catapult contestants into fame and fortune. For Chinne, this dream became a reality after eight years of consistent attempts. Finally, on her ninth attempt, she entered the house with her niece, forming the unique aunt-and-niece pair known as the “Ndi Nne” duo.
During the interview, Osi delved into the motivation and thought process behind their unusual pairing. “A lot of people had a lot to say when you guys first got into the show, aunt and niece. How did you guys get together to get to the audition to get into the house? Whose idea, was it?” he asked.
Chinne, reflecting on her journey, revealed, “Actually, it was my idea because I have been trying to go into Big Brother for like 8 years, so every year I kept on trying and trying until this year and it was a dual reason. So, I buzzed her up, like, ‘Yo, it’s not going to be a bad idea if we do this together, and the rest is history.'”
The idea of entering the BBNaija house as a duo initially met with hesitation from her niece, Nne. When asked about her reaction, Nne admitted, “At first, I wasn’t as enthusiastic, but down the line, I saw reason and here we are today o, we made it.”
As the conversation progressed, the duo discussed their strategy in the house, a topic of much speculation among fans and social media users. Contrary to the popular belief that going into the house as a pair could be a disadvantage, Nne emphasized that their strategy was simply to remain true to themselves. “Going into the house with my aunt didn’t mess up my strategy. Our strategy was to be 100% ourselves and authentic, and she helped me to be as authentic as possible on the show,” she explained.
Despite their best efforts, the pair’s time on BBNaija was cut short, leaving many fans shocked by their early eviction. Nne expressed her disbelief at the outcome, saying, “The eviction came as a shock because I feel like we were a strong pair and we didn’t deserve to leave that early.”
The journey of Chinne and Nne in the BBNaija house may have been brief, but it is a testament to persistence, family bonds, and the unpredictable nature of reality television. Their story adds to the rich tapestry of BBNaija narratives that continue to captivate audiences both within Nigeria and across the globe.
