Folorunso Alakija was born on the 15th of July, 1951 to an Upper middle-class Family. Her father’s name was Chief L.A. Ogbara of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
She is a popular Nigerian billionaire business woman and Philanthropist. She has businesses in the fashion, oil, real estate and printing industry. She is the Group Managing Director of The Rose of Sharon Group which consists of The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited, Digital Reality Prints Limited – and the Executive Vice-Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited.
In 2015, Alakija was listed as the second most powerful woman in Africa after Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the 87th most powerful woman in the world.
In 2020, Forbes ranked Folorunso Alakija as the richest woman in Africa with an estimated net worth of 1 Billion dollars.
In November 1976, Folorunso Alakija married Lawyer Modupe Alakija of the Adeyemo Alakija family. The marriage is blessed with four sons. It is also important to mention that the famous DJ Xclusive is Folorunso Alakija’s Nephew.
