In a poignant moment on the popular reality show “The Kardashians,” Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, tearfully disclosed that she has a tumor on her ovary and will need to undergo surgery. This revelation comes at a time when ovarian cancer cases are on the rise globally, with a notable increase in the United States.

The emotional announcement was made during Season Five, Episode Seven, of the show, filmed during a family trip to Aspen, Colorado. Kris Jenner, 68, gathered her daughters Kendall Jenner, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, and her partner Corey Gamble to share the devastating news. Fighting back tears, she said, “I wanted to tell you guys something because I hadn’t told you yet. But I went to the doctor, and I had my scan. They found — and this just makes me really emotional — but they found a cyst and a little tumor on my ovary. So I went to the doctor and Dr. A said I have to have my ovaries taken out. And I’m just really emotional about it because they came in handy with you guys.”

The rise in ovarian cancer cases has been a growing concern in the medical community. According to recent statistics, the incidence of ovarian cancer in the United States has seen a significant increase, highlighting the importance of early detection and treatment. Kris Jenner’s situation underscores the reality of this health crisis, bringing it to the forefront of public attention through her platform.

The revelation deeply affected her daughters. In a confessional, Kim Kardashian expressed her sorrow, saying, “To have a surgery and remove your ovaries is like a really big deal. I feel really sad for her. I couldn’t even imagine being in that situation and how you would feel really scared to be going through that.”

Kourtney Kardashian, who joined the conversation later via FaceTime, echoed Kim’s sentiments. As a new mother to her baby boy Rocky with husband Travis Barker, Kourtney said she understood her mother’s emotions. “I would feel the same way. It’s like your womanly power. And it doesn’t mean that it’s like taking away who she is or what she’s experienced, but I would feel like this sentimental feeling of what it’s created.”

Reflecting on the situation, Kris became even more emotional, acknowledging that this surgery symbolizes the end of a significant chapter in her life. “It’s a sign of, we’re done with this part of your life. It’s a whole chapter that’s just closed,” she said.

Kendall Jenner, who does not have children, expressed her concern for her mother’s well-being. “I get her emotion behind it. I get that it’s sad because they (her ovaries) have brought all her kids into the world, which is totally fair. But at the same time, what are we going to use those for anymore? If they’re potentially hurting you, let’s get them out of there,” she said.

To lighten the mood, Kim jokingly suggested they throw a “farewell ovaries party,” and the atmosphere lifted even more when Corey Gamble presented Kris with a thoughtful gift. “I have something to help your energy,” he said, handing her a shopping bag. “I bought you a gift. I don’t want you to be sad.”

Kris tried on the new coat Corey had bought for her and beamed, “It fits perfect. I’m not sad anymore. It’s amazing how new clothes fix everything.”
