18 year old Bianca Andreescu clinched her maiden WTA Masters 1000 by beating three time Grand slam champion Angelique Kerber in a thrilling final at the BNP paribas open.

She became the fourth youngest player to gain glory at the California Desert and the first wild card to win the tournament after being outside the world’s top 150 before the tournament.

She climb’s to 24th position when the new WTA rankings are done.
