Twitter has officially been acquired for $44 billion by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, and several requests are coming on how to make the popular social media platform, including one from rapper Ice Cube.

The N.W.A. artist caught wind of the Twitter buyout which took place on Monday (April 25) and headed to his official account to ask the new owner to remove his “shadow ban.”

“Free at last!,” Ice Cube wrote. “Take off my shadowban homie.”

While Musk did not directly respond to the rapper’s request he did issue an official statement explaining what he hopes to see for Twitter now that he is the owner.

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said in a statement.

Adding: “I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential — I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”

Musk has quite the resume of top-tier companies under his belt including founder, CEO and Chief Engineer at SpaceX, co-founder of PayPal, founder of The Boring Company and co-founder of Neuralink and Open Al, currently has an estimated net worth of nearly $273 billion. According to Forbes’ billionaire’s list and the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the 50-year-old is currently the wealthiest person in the world.

It’s unclear what is to come now that Twitter is under a new direction but one thing is for certain is that Black Twitter is not the happiest now that they have a new boss in town.
