Samiel Asghedom, otherwise known as Blacc Sam, who is brother to the late, great rapper Nipsey Hussle, tells the Guardian that they plan on breaking ground on a second location for the Marathon Clothing Store.

Moving to the Melrose Arts District in Los Angeles, Asghedom shared his thoughts with the publication about enriching his brother’s wishes, “This second location is a dream that Nipsey always had, and it’s important that his kids are able to see his plans fulfilled.”

Nipsey and Blacc Sam’s first endeavor into clothing was with Slauson Tees store in 2006. From there, and as Nipsey’s career grew, the franchise evolved into The Marathon Store in 2017, which eventually became the one-stop shop for all things Nipsey, including his music, clothing and various other merchandise.

The original store was on Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue — which, unfortunately, was also where Nipsey was shot and killed in 2019. The store has since been closed and mainly operates as a memorial site for fans.

Nip’s family has already bought a commercial property for the new location and the space is currently in the process of being remodeled, the report says. The store has yet to receive an official launch date.

In addition, David Gross, who was Nipsey’s business partner, has also announced the reopening of Vector90. The co-working space was a venture he and Hussle launched back in 2018 but closed during the pandemic. “Whatever we do, it will be an enduring piece of Nipsey’s legacy and what he meant to the neighborhood… It will be there after I’m long gone,” Gross said of both establishments.
